1. What do you know about the publication of Noli Me Tangere?>Some of the things I know about the publication of one of the greatest Novels our country have, the Noli Me Tangere (Touch Me Not in English; Huwag mo Akong Salingin in Filipino) are the following:- This was written by our National Hero, Jose Protacio Rizal Mercado y Alonso Realonda, in the year 1886 but materialized in the year 1889 during the colonialism of Spain- It was Maximo Viola who helped Rizal in financial aspect-This was first materialized at Berlin Germany-The novel was all about the inequities and the wrong and harsh ruling style of government of the Spaniards
2. How did affect the Philippines?
>The novel Noli Me Tangere greatly affect all the Filipinos. It serves as an eye-opener to all the people inhabiting the Philippines. Through this novel, the hearts and minds of each Filipinos were shaken that all of them seeks for liberty and freedom - freedom from our brutal invaders.
3. Do you think novels in the Philippines are important as they used to be when the NOLI was published in 1887?
>Of course
4. Are people still inspired by novels? Explain.
>Yes because as of these days, the novel itself evolves. Now, there are novels about love which teens like me are fond of and of course some novels are very nice that is worth reading.
5. What is it about reading long texts, such as short stories or novels that makes it different from reading tweets and Facebook status post?
>Well, on this kind of situation all I can say is that the present generation are gadget-oriented and technology-centered who prefer to read e-books, tweet on twitter and instagram and post on Facebook accounts rather than reading novels and short stories of the past. Honestly speaking, it makes me/us bored. It's like saying "Why bother to go to Library when I already have my own library (Websters Application) ? "
6. What is the significance of literature for the Facebook generation?
>The significance of Literature for the Facebook Generation is that even if we are now on the technology period where new inventions and innovations arises, we shouldn't neglect and forget how rich and lucky we are to have such literary works that once saved as from our invaders. To embrace change is good as long as for the better but to forget our Literary works, never.
